Randomness

Ben & Jeremy were able to attend the Sunday concert for the Mormon Tabernacle choir.
Ben took Isaac into Grand America to use the bathroom.  There was this statue that Isaac wanted to get his picture taken with.  He is a cheeser!

Alex and his cousin Preston love playing with each other!

Jeremy drew a picture of Alex.  It's hard to see put I think he did a great job!

The boys spent all Saturday outside with our first snowfall of December and built this  snowman

Temple Square

This past Friday, we went to Salt Lake to attend Ben's work Christmas party.  Afterwards, we went to Temple Square to see the lights.  It was raining so we spent more time in the Joseph Smith building and listening to a concert in the Assembly Hall.

This is the handcart monument that Ben's great grandpa sculpted.

Scout activity

For one of our scout activities this month, the boy scouts in our ward asked if the cub scouts could come to their mutual night and they wanted to help them build something.  Jeremy was thrilled and he got to make a treasure box.  He likes to store his DS in it.  The boys painted the boxes and then the older boys helped them put them together.

Sheldon's return

So if anyone remembers Sheldon, he is the elf that visits our family for Christmas to make sure the boys stay in line.  Alex loves Sheldon and takes him to bed with him.  One night we were having some family time and Alex fell asleep on the couch with Sheldon and held on pretty tight to him as I took him to bed!

Ward Christmas party & Jeremy's piano recital

The first part of December, our ward had their traditional ward breakfast.  The children got to go and sing carols and wait for Santa.  The 1st picture of of Isaac waiting.  The second picture shows Santa coming in and Isaac panicking because he saw him.  He came over to me and hung on my pant leg.  We didn't even get to sit on his lap because we had to head to Jeremy's piano recital.  Isaac has yet to sit on Santa's lap this year.  He wouldn't do it when we saw him at City Creek either!

Jeremy had his first piano recital at the local library.  His teacher told the kids to dress in their Sunday best but that they could wear a Santa hat.  Jeremy loves his hat so he wore it with pride!  Jeremy got to do two pieces of music, the first one with his teacher and the second on his own.  He did really well and we are so proud of him.

His friend Elliott, who is in his class at school and they also are in Scouts together, both take from Miss Kim

Here are all the students.  Miss Kim also teaches voice so these are all the voice and piano students

Jeremy passed off his first book and got a trophy for doing so.

Jeremy and his teacher Miss Kim

Proud family!

Titanic

Jeremy's teacher from 2nd grade, Mrs. Powell, had Jeremy come into her classroom and show off his Titanic model he made.  He also got to field questions from the students about Titanic.  I am so proud of Jeremy and all the knowledge he has gained about the Titanic.  It is a great hobby of his.

Art show @ North Ogden Elementary

Jeremy and Alex's school had a special experience of having a local artist come to their school.  She taught each class different art techniques and then had each of the grades paint a large mural, which was displayed for all the families.  Each student got a little picture or tile for their part of the picture.  It was really neat to see.
This is what Alex's grade painted. Alex painted in the bottom section of the painting

This is Alex's artist statement.  Alex loves to draw so this statement is very true for him.

This is Jeremy's grade's picture

This is a couple that Ben knows and one of the grades painted a picture of them.

This is the old North Ogden elementary.  I am not sure what grade painted this

Another grade painted this

The principal got to paint a part of Alex's grade

Our November

Grandpa Gerritsen treated us to Disney On Ice @ the Delta Center.  The boys got to see the statue of  John Stockton,

Alex is always goofin!

The boys got an icee in the Toy story cup

The theme this year was 100 years of Disney.

The scenery was fun because it changed to lots of different things

Here we are with Grandpa and our cousins

We went to the Clark Planetarium to look around

Isaac was fascinated by the marble contraption

We didn't know it until we were there but Macys had their candy windows open that night

This is sideways but it's a Santa

Over at City Creek they had it all decorated for Christmas and there were people dressed in costumes walking around and this lady told us stories.  The boys also got to visit Santa

The boys put on a play. Earlier in the month, we went to a play at my alma mater, Box Elder High school.  My nephew Scott and niece Sarah were in a play there, Titanic.  Jeremy and Alex loved it and were inspired by it so that's why they did this play for us

It was a pirate/circus play.  Isaac was inspired by Disney On Ice and the marching soldiers there so he marched like he was in a marching band the whole play!

Jeremy wrote a Thanksgiving play that he performed for my family at Thanskgiving.  He wrote parts for all his cousins.  It was really good!

I decided to get rid of all the leaves in the yard but let the boys have fun first.  This is Isaac and our neighbor Justin.  Justin brought over his rake from next door and helped me rake and bag up 5 bags of leaves.  I was impressed.  I didn't even ask him.  He just wanted to!
