Lagoon!

On the 23rd, we went to our stake Lagoon day. This has been a tradition for us the last couple of years. We go in the late afternoon and just let the kids ride some kiddie rides and head home. We almost didn't make it. I had tried to go to my weekly doctor's appointment the day before and my doctor couldn't see me because she was at a delivery. So they said come back the next day. I had the boys with me and this time, my appointment was at McKay Dee, where my doctor also practices. When we got there, she had two more deliveries and couldn't see me until next week. Being 37, almost 38 weeks, I was a little anxious and felt like I needed to be seen. So they said I could go down to labor and delivery. So we did! They hooked me up to monitors and checked me. Of course, with my luck, I didn't have a single contraction while I was there but it was fun for the boys to see the baby monitor and see the labor and delivery. They won't see that because I will be in another room next week by the time they see me and the baby. They got to see a new baby in the nursery and they both were very well behaved. But Jeremy was anxious to make sure that Mom could still go to Lagoon. So when the nurse gave the go ahead that I could go, she also gave him an assignment that he makes sure that Mom drinks lots of water while I am at Lagoon. We picked up Ben at the FrontRunner station and headed to Lagoon. The first ride Ben and the boys went on was Rattlesnake Rapids. They all got nice and wet and it was the funnest ride of the night for them. We stayed the latest we had ever done, almost 10 and the boys had a blast!

July 24th

For July 24th, we went up to Oakley to Ben's aunt's cabin. We spent the morning trying to finish painting. We have undertaken a huge project these last few months of painting our living room, kitchen, entryway, upstairs hallway, the boys room and our bedroom. I will have to take pictures later. Things are still pretty helter-skelter. But I think it turned out nice. It has been a suprise that I haven't gone into labor with all the moving of stuff around. I also pretty much cleared out the baby's room and we will be putting up the crib soon. The boys got new bunkbeds and love sleeping in them and playing in their room. I had asked Ben if I could get our bedroom done by my birthday, which was yesterday, and he did! We have had so much help from family to ward members and even to a hitchhiker that Ben had given a ride to and seen again a few days later. His name was John and he was coming from Florida and headed to Montana. He had never been there so he wanted to see what it was all about. I was a little hesitant when Ben brought him home but he was really nice and had some interesting stories. Anyway, back to the 24th! We went over to the lake that is near the cabin and it was really pretty!

Fishing with the boys!

A couple of weeks ago, Ben and the boys went with his dad and brother and his kids to Mirror Lake. They caught a whole bunch of fish and had a great time.

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th, we went to North Ogden Cherry Days. We were late getting the kids to the kids parade but they still loved riding their bikes on the street. It was Alex's first time so he was in heaven. We then had really good seats for the parade, under a tree and near the first of the parade. The kids got lots of candy and had fun with their friends and cousins. I was pretty disappointed in the parade because it was like one big advertisement. Only maybe two actual floats. The rest were local businesses advertising themselves. I grew up going to Peach Days in Brigham City that had fun floats that people would spend hours making. My favorites though were the Shriners hospital with the belly dancers and guys with the big swords. There were also these old men that would dress in trappers clothes and shot off these big guns! I wish they were still around so my kids could see! We then had lunch with Ben's family then went to a baptism of a little girl in our ward. She was so cute! The boys got to play with her brother after at their house. They played Star Wars and were in heaven because there were a few other boys playing too. Ben did yardwork and other things. We didn't get to the fireworks because I was pretty swollen and so Ben just took the boys and watched from the road.

Happy belated Father's Day Daddy!

I just wanted to put these pictures up of our little Father's Day celebration we had. I made a little rock creation for Ben to let him know that 'Our Daddy Rocks!'. The boys loved to give it to him. I also bought him the DVD Forever Strong, which we had never seen. Ben has had about 3 cousins who were on the team that this film depicts and one of them actually acts in it. So it was fun to watch. I also made him a photo card with pictures of him and the boys. The boys love him a lot and I love him a lot. I am grateful to be married to him and that we are continuing to add to our little family. Ben trys really hard in all he does and trys to help the boys learn and be the best they can be.

Dinsdale reunion

A few weeks ago, my family gathered for a long overdue reunion of my dad's family. We haven't got together like this since my grandparents 60th anniversary clear back in 1986. So it was a big deal. My uncle came in with most of his kids and their families from Houston, TX and Arizona. My three aunts all came and a lot of their families. We also had my grandpa's half brother and his wife come on the first night. The first night we went to a park in Perry, UT (where I was raised-my brother Jeff put this whole reunion together!) and had dinner and we chatted, the kids played and we talked about my grandparents. Then the next day was at a park in Brigham City, UT. There we had brunch and dinner. The kids played games and had fun. Jeremy got to go in the dunk tank before it started pouring rain. We also gathered for a big picture, a talent show and a slide show. It was so neat and fun for my kids to meet my family. My kids had never met my uncle, who I hadn't seen since Ben and I's wedding. I felt my dad's presence there very strongly. He was the one to get his family together and when he died, that kinda died with him.

How we found out Alex was allergic to Amoxicillin

A few weeks ago, Alex got sick with strep throat. He is pretty hyper so when he isn't feeling well you know it. He was put on Amoxicillin for a couple of days and by the second day, Ben noticed a rash. It really wasn't too bad and we thought maybe he had had some peanuts, which make him break out in a rash. Within about an hour, he came to us crying and just itching. It had got really bad. Ben somehow figured to read on the internet about the medicine he was on and found out it can cause a rash. So we stopped the medicine and got him on a new one. Then within about a week, Jeremy came down with Strep. He had complained about having a stiff neck the same day that he got an adjustment from a chiropractor friend of ours. I thought it was from that and told him it would go away. After treating him for a couple of days thinking it was that and Jeremy crying and finally not being able to turn or tilt his head, I took him in. Strep! But now thankfully they are both healthy.

ALways catching up!

I know it's been a little more than a month since I last posted. I never seem to get things done like I want to. Presently, the house is pretty trashed because we are trying to paint before the baby gets here. Ben's grandma gave us some paint so we are painting pretty much everything upstairs. It really needs it. I have also been trying to get the baby's stuff out of storage and we are transitioning Alex into Jeremy's room. We don't have the bunk beds yet but we have put a mattress on the floor and Alex sleeps there for the most part. I have been told by my doctor that she will induce me on the 2nd of August. So we are pretty excited. I am pretty swollen in my feet, knees, hands, arms, etc. and I get so sore by my ribs at night. I should probably document the worst of the swelling with pictures but it's pretty gross! I tend to do too much when I am almost done, like with Alex I cleaned our carpets. I have been painting with this baby. Don't worry I wear a mask. I just can't stand to see things in shambles and Ben has been busy with other things! It's been harder than we thought to paint so we kinda got in over our heads. But we hope it gets done and we can have people come over and see when it's done!
