Bowling with Mom's work

I have started a new job at Mountain America Credit Union (I have been there about a month) and they have all been so great! The employees and their families recently went to Fat Cats in Ogden and we all had pizza and bowled. It was a lot of fun and I am happy to be at a great job. Just last night, Ben and I enjoyed an Elegant Evening at Grand America in Salt Lake all compliments of Mountain America. We were treated to a nice dinner and we got to try our hand at gambling (no we didn't gamble money) and got chips to trade for raffle tickets. We didn't win anything but it was fun to spend time together!

Jeremy's happenings

Jeremy has had some busy last couple of weeks. The first picture is of him heading off to his first friend sleepover. Alex wanted to go to so we went over there for a little bit and had smores. Jeremy did really well but ended up getting a cold from it that turned into asthma for him, long nights for Mom, a visit to the doctor and no playing with friends. But it was worth it for him.

He also started preschool this last week. He is going into his 3rd year but we feel it's worth it for him. He'll be extra prepared for kindergarten next year.

And last of all, Jeremy started soccer. This is his first time playing but already he is an excellent player. He has scored 5 goals in each game he has played in and is a very aggresive player. He loves it! This last game he wanted his hair spiked like one of the kids he plays with and I tried but his hair doesn't like to spike! Jeremy is a handful but we are so proud of what a big kid he is getting to be!

Mowing the lawn

Alex got this fake mower over the summer and he likes to be like Daddy with his glasses and everything. The first pictures are the other night and the next pictures are of last Saturday. Ben was mowing the lawn and Alex came in the back with his 'mower and glasses' just like Daddy!

Funny Alex

Alex is our funny man! He doesn't like his picture taken (just ask Grandpa) but when he does, they are usually pretty funny. And he likes to get into mischief. Yesterday, he hid Ben's wedding ring before church. Luckily Ben found it today. We sure love Alex. He makes us laugh. And we have needed it lately!

Dinsdale family reunion

Last Saturday, we had a reunion with most of my brothers and sisters and their families. We went up to my brother-in-law Gary's parents house. They live up on the mountain close to the entrance to Sardine canyon. They have a pond and it's really nice. Jeremy and Alex got to swing on a rope swing, go on the rowboat in the pond, feed the fish and Jeremy swung from another rope swing into the pond. I took Alex out on the rowboat and Ben joined me. When we got off the boat, Ben handed Alex the camera and he also had his hat. As we went onto the grass, Alex looked at us both and just kinda laughed and tossed the camera and his hat into the water! As I screamed, Ben hurried and decided to take his shoes and socks off and get into the pond to go after the camera. As soon as he got in the water, he leapt out and said he was going to need stitches. He had sliced his big toe on a rock when he got in the water. Two of my brother-in-laws helped wrap his foot and drove him to our van on the 4-wheeler (not the way he wanted to ride it) and I drove him back to North Ogden to get stitches. It was a pretty deep cut and required five big stitches. Needless to say, Alex knows not to do that again (I hope!!). And just a tip. If something falls in the water, camera, cell phone, etc., put it in a bowl of rice and let it sit for a few days and it's fine. We did it with the camera and it's good!

Ben and Jeremy hiking

Jeremy, my brother Steve and I thought we'd go for a hike yesterday afternoon on the backside of Mt Ben Lomand. These are pictures of the first look out point, about one or two miles into the 7 or 8 mile hike to the top of Mt. Ben Lomand (which is in NORTH Ogden). It was a bit much of a hike for Jeremy as he is only four, five next month, so we turned around to go back down the trail. Jeremy didn't know what we meant when we said we were going on a hike, I think he thought a walk somewhere and was just excited to go do something with me and Steve. Maybe I can do this hike again before snow falls in November and get pictures with a better camera and not just the cell phone.

The nice part to this is these are in my back yard, I see them every day and I don't have to travel around the world to see them or to hike them.

After we got home we took Jeremy and Alex to the end of the end of the Raptors baseball game (Single A baseball- the LA Dodgers minor league team). The Raptors haven't lost a home game when Tommy Lasorda has been at te games scouting. Here has been in town the last 2 nights and was at the game last night. Jeremy got a ball at the game on Thursday night and got it autographed by Tommy.

The mountains here in North Ogden have arguably some of the greatest scenery in the world. It is comparable to the green hills of England and the mountains of Switzerland and many areas of Alaska. And I've seen parts of each of these beautiful areas of the world.

Happenings for the week

We have had kinda of a quiet week but just a few highlights. Alex is starting to like to play baseball, just like Jeremy. Here's some pictures of him trying to hit the ball in the house! Alex is always so cute, especially with the girls. He loves girls and likes to be in the middle of them. Here he is with two neighbor girls who wanted him to come ridin with them. Ben's sister Amy and her husband Darrell are here from Ithaca, NY and we were able to meet their cute baby Elisa. Today we had a few fun hours with them swimming at the local pool. Last night, we went to the Raptors game. They are a local single A team. The boys had fun! Jeremy was able to go out on the field after the game was over and hit some balls. Tommy Lasorda was also at the game and Jeremy got his baseball he brought signed.
