crocheted bibs

So I told you a few blogs ago about some crocheted bibs I have been doing. I wanted to show you them. I do a set of them with a small and a large bib. I have done a couple more since this picture but I think they turned out cute. They are made out of the cotton you make washcloths from and they tie around the baby's neck. I am selling them for $12 if anyone is interested!

Love this!

So I get to do Alex's playschool every few weeks and I needed an idea for the theme I chose, butterflies. I get the Family Fun magazine and although I don't do everything in there, I do once in awhile find some fun things and found this activity of making butterflies out of clothespins. I was also quite proud of myself because I made butterfly cupcakes from a picture on the M&M's bag. I am really not a dessert baker but I think I did okay with these!

Jeremy's class trip

Last Friday, I was able to go with Jeremy's class bowling. All the kindergarten classes from his school were there. It was a lot of fun. I have been volunteering in Jeremy's class and getting to know the kids so it was fun to see them outside the classroom.

The boys

A couple of weeks ago, on a whim, we stopped by to see a guy that Ben grew up with and his horses. His name is Gary and he let the boys ride his horses around the corral. They thought it was the greatest! I really do appreciate Ben showing them places and taking them to see people he knew growing up. He knows it gets hard sometimes for me to just drop by peoples' houses but I do appreciate him for all he is trying to do and I hope sometimes the boys will too. The boys really do love each other, even though they are rough and tumble with each other. I love them too and I am grateful to be a mom of three very boy boys!

Isaac at 8 months

Our little Isaac is such a busy little baby. He is pulling himself up on things and can go from thing to thing. He often pulls chairs down on himself. He now can crawl but still prefers to do his army crawl to go far distances. He doesn't like to sit still and diaper changes are quite the trick. He seems like a toddler in the way he acts but we have to remind ourselves that he is still a baby!

Alex's 4th birthday

Our funny Alex is now 4. He wanted a Spiderman birthday and that is sure what he got. He had his first friend party and kids from his playschool, preschool and primary class plus a few friends came. We played webs with silly string and pin the sticker on Spiderman. We also had cupcakes and lots of fun presents. That night, family came over for the Spiderman cake. Just a few words about Alex. Alex still remains shy around those he doesn't know. But he definetely isn't that way around us. He isn't a morning person but tends to be a night owl. He loves to play with his toys and loves to wrestle Isaac, much to our chagrin! But we love him and we are glad he is in our family!

Happy Birthday Aunt Kim and Uncle Gary!

On April 10th, we went to a surprise party for my sister Kim's 50th. Her husband Gary turns 50 in August so we also celebrated his. Their daughter Amanda put the whole thing together and it was a great time. We went to a park in Clearfield. Kim and Gary have known each other since junior high and Kim waited for Gary while he was on his mission and they got married soon after he got home. They are a real inspiration to me because they are truly best friends. All of my brothers and sisters and some of the nieces and nephews and their families came. I was able to get a picture of all of my siblings and I. I really felt my parents' spirits there as we all stood together. It was a neat day!

Easter 2010

Finally I am getting to post about our Easter. The weekend before Easter, we had our cousin Jayden over to sleep and we colored eggs. The boys had a great time. We also went over to Harrisville park the Saturday before Easter to an egg hunt there. We followed that up with going to our local grocery store for a fun hunt throughout the store. On Easter, the boys had a fun time seeing their Easter baskets and looking for eggs outside. That night we went up to Grandma and Grandpa Gerritsen's for dinner and a kids egg hunt. We didn't get to wear our Easter outfits until after Easter but the boys sure looked cute!
