Alex is 6!

Alex turned 6 in April.  For Alex's birthday, he wanted a Mario party.  We held this on Saturday (his birthday was on a Monday).  I handmade the invitations (quite the feat for me. I wished I would have taken a picture of it.  I think they turned out cute).  We had about 9 or so boys over to our house.  We played an outdoor tic tac toe game with frisbees and a pin the mustache on Mario.  A friend of ours made it.  I made cupcakes. It was a fun party.
We had a birthday breakfast.  A big German pancake.  Alex wasn't sure he would like it because he likes just plain pancakes but we got him to try it and he liked it.

Here are the decorations for his birthday party

On Sunday, we had the family over.  I had a cake made and it turned out pretty well.
Isaac got to the cake before I got a picture of it

My brother Jeff and his family

My brother Corey and his wife Saundra

We gave him a Harry Potter Lego game

Ben's family

Grandma and Grandpa gave him Legos

Proud Dad and Grandpa

Isaac wanted all the presents for himself

It's mine!

Playing soccer with cousin Scott

Someday he will be a pro!

Sarah played ball with Isaac

Aunt Kim brought Alex his present

On his actual birthday, I took cupcakes to his school. He wore this crown for the day.
He also got to do his science experiment on his birthday for his class.  We blew up a balloon and rubbed it on our head and then spread confetti on a plate.  The static electricity from rubbing it on your head makes the confetti 'dance'.  The kids in Alex's class asked him question about his experiment and Dad and I got to watch

Take a bow!

He got a certificate for a great experiment

That night, we made pizza's as a family.

He got a Leapster game.

I asked him 20 questions and this gives you a little insight into who he is.

Alex is a fun, silly and handsome boy.
He loves to tease his brother and I often get after him about it.
He loves to watch a good movie but also loves to listen to a good book either on CD or by Grandma reading to him (see above for his favorite book).
He doesn't like school work much but he does well in art.
He loves to imagine and often can be found with something in his hand that he is playing with.
He also loves to play with all his toys and by all I mean all. He often has them all over in his room.
He loves to play Harry Potter.
He just finished soccer and got better and better as the year went on.  He just started Tball and is doing well at it also.
His Primary teachers tell me that he does well in class and answers questions very well (that is good to hear when I wonder if he retains anything at church)
We love Alex and look forward to another great year with him.
