Easter

Easter celebrations came to the Gerritsen household. On the Friday before Easter, the boys had fun dying and coloring eggs.

Since we had soccer games during the times that there were Easter egg hunts, Isaac and I went over to Smiths because they were having a breakfast.  Then we found out that they were doing a candy hunt.

Easter morning was a happy one for the boys.  Isaac got Frozen, which he loves and sings the songs to it all the time!

Isaac got temporary tattoos from Aunt Kim and ran to the bathroom to get a rag and put them on.

Alex loved the dollar Kim gave him!
Jeremy was excited for a new book and a new journal.
Alex tried on a costume that he used to always wear. It's just a bit too little

Jeremy being the good older brother reading to his brothers.

The Easter bunny had to hide our eggs at the neighbors because our lawn was sprayed for weeds.  Glad he found us.

It's great to be 8

Alex is now 8.  I can't believe that the happy smiling baby boy I had 8 years ago has turned into such a handsome, crazy, imaginative kid he is today.  So here are some things about Alex:
His favorite color is still red.
His favorite toy, which he just got for his birthday, is his Power Ranger figure (he got two actually, one from Aunt Kim and the other from his brothers)
His favorite fruit is watermelon.
His favorite TV show is Power Rangers.
His favorite thing to eat for lunch (and if he could breakfast and dinner) is Hot and Ready cheese pizza from Little Caesars.
His favorite outfit (which he just got for his birthday) is his red shirt and red Puma shorts.
His favorite game is Uno.
His favorite snack is Goldfish.
His favorite animal is a Lion.
His favorite song is Radioactive by Imagine Dragons.
His favorite books are the 13th reality series (although he loves a lot of books that he listens to on tape).
His best friends are Jacob Alder and Bauer McAuley.
His favorite cereal is Lucky Charms.
His favorite thing to do outside is play with his brothers.
His favorite drink is rootbeer.
His favorite holiday is Easter (it's not a surprise that it is because he was born on a Easter Sunday).
He loves to eat cereal for breakfast (and he also likes to have some at night too).
He wants to be a movie star when he grows up.
Well this kid was ready for his 8th birthday.  He is especially excited to be baptized soon and I think he is ready in every way!  Here are some fun happenings from his birthday.
Aunt Kim came by with Uncle Gary to give him a present and wish him Happy birthday a few days before his birthday

He got to open his presents from our family the night before his birthday.  His brothers gave him a Power Ranger

His favorite present was his new bike.  Jeremy and Alex rode to school that day.  Alex was so happy!

I took cupcakes for his class and Alex was the birthday buckaroo!

His great teacher Mrs. Powell!

Alex had his first den meeting on his birthday and got to hold the flag.

For his birthday party, he wanted to go to Layton Surf and Swim.  He got to invite 3 friends, Jacob, Bauer and Blake. Some of the family was also able to come.  It was a lot of fun.

Dad had a great time until he fell off the tube and cracked his head on the bottom of the pool!

Lily and Jessica came to swim!

So did Kelly, Preston, Sam and Addy!

Dad had lots of fun in the waves!
                                                                   cute cousins!
the cutting of the cake. The boys were wiped out from swimming!

I forgot the candles but the boys had fun with their cake and ice cream sandwiches!
Paul came to meet us at the end
